Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis recently released their latest album, Jam & Lewis, Vol. 1. The 10-track project features collaborations from legendary artists including Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Boys II Men, Babyface, Toni Braxton, Charlie Wilson, Usher and more.

On the latest episode of FOR THE RECORD, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis sat down with Genius’ Head of Artist Relations Rob Markman to discuss their new album which was over 30 years in the making after writing and producing hits for some of music’s biggest stars.

The duo also gave a behind-the-scenes look at working with Janet Jackson on her breakthrough album Control which landed them a Grammy Award for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical) in 1987. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis also talked about their experiences working with Prince and subsequently being fired from Prince’s group The Time.
