Congress has suffered a major setback in West Bengal, former President Pranab Mukherjee's son and senior Congress leader Abhijit Mukherjee has left the party. And now he has joined TMC, Abhijeet took membership of the party in Kolkata. It is believed that TMC can field Abhijeet from Jangipur seat. Elections were not held on that seat after the death of a candidate.

West Bengal में Congress को बड़ा झटका लगा है, former President Pranab Mukherjee के बेटे और कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता Abhijit Mukherjee ने पार्टी छोड़ दी है. और अब वो TMC में शामिल हो गए हैं,अभिजीत ने कोलकाता में पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण की. माना जा रहा है कि TMC जंगीपुर सीट से अभिजीत को चुनाव में उतार सकती है. उस सीट पर एक प्रत्याशी की मौत के बाद चुनाव नहीं कराए गए थे.
