A single mango tree with 121 varieties of the fruit growing on it! The 15-year-old mango tree has become quite an attraction in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district, which is famed for its mangoes. Growing in the district's Company Bagh area, the unique tree is the product of an experiment initiated by horticulturists five years ago with the aim to develop new varieties of mangoes and experiment with their taste. ఒక మామిడి చెట్టుకు ఒకే రకమైన మామిడి కాయలు కాస్తాయి. అంటుకడితే 2-3 రకాల మామిడికాయలు కాచే చెట్లు కూడా ఉన్నాయి. కానీ ఒక్క చెట్టుకు ఏకంగా 121 రకాల మామిడి కాయలు కాచాయి. ఇండియన్ హార్టికల్చర్ లో దీన్నొక రికార్డ్ గా చెబుతున్నారు. ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్ లోని సహరాన్ పూర్ కు చెందిన హార్టికల్చర్ ఉద్యోగులు మాత్రం కొత్తతరహా ప్రయోగం చేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు.10 ఏళ్ల వయసున్న ఓ మామిడి చెట్టును ఎంపిక చేసుకొని, దానికి ఒక్కో కొమ్మకు, ఒక్కో జాతికి చెందిన మామిడి కొమ్మను అంటుకట్టడం ప్రారంభించారు. అలా 121 మామిడి జాతుల కొమ్మల్ని ఈ చెట్టుకు అంటుకట్టారు. విజయవంతంగా ఆ చెట్టు 121 రకాల మామిడి కాయలను కాస్తోంది.
