कोरोना संक्रमण के प्रकोप के दौरान हरिद्वार में इसी साल आयोजित हुए कुंभ मेले में कोविड टेस्ट के फर्जीवाड़े को लेकर चल रही जांच में अब एक नया मोड़ सामने आयाा है, मामले की जांच कर रही एसआईटी इस दौरान मेले की व्यवस्थाओं से जुड़े अधिकारियों की भूमिका की जांच कर रही है, इस मामले में दर्ज हुई एफआईआर एक नई धारा और जोड़ी गई है। इस फर्जीवाड़े को लेकर हरिद्वार के मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी को भी जांच के दायरे में हैं।
