Growing digital reliance in post-Covid era exposed digital inequalities: MEA at UNSC
  • 3 years ago
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla addressed at the UN Security Council open debate on ‘Maintenance of International Peace & Security: Cyber Security’ on June 29. He said, “There is a sophisticated use of cyberspace by terrorists to broaden their propaganda and incite hatred. Terrorists have also used social media in planning and executing terror attacks. As a victim of terrorism, India has always emphasized the need for Member States to tackle implications of terrorist exploitation of cyber domain more strategically. Digital gaps amongst nations create an unsustainable environment in the cyber domain. Growing digital reliance in post-Covid era has exposed digital inequalities. It must be bridged through capacity building.”
