The US military is set to hand over control of Bagram Airbase to Afghanistan as the last American soldiers prepare to leave in the next few days.
After twenty years in control of the airfield, the departure is part of a complete withdrawal from the country in a move many suspect to be the beginning of the end of its military operations in the Middle East.
In April, US President Joe Biden announced the complete withdrawal of all 2500 US troops in Afghanistan ahead of the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
