वैज्ञानिकों ने बताया कि वायरस के कोशिकाओं में प्रवेश के अब तक ज्ञात मार्ग को ही ध्यान में रखते हुए कोविड-19 के टीके और एंटीबॉडी-आधारित चिकित्सीय उपायों को प्रयोग में लाया जा रहा है। यह सभी उपाय वायरस के कोशिकाओं में प्रवेश मार्ग को बाधित करने के आधार पर ही काम करते हैं। अध्ययन के सह-लेखक और मॉलिक्यूलर माइक्रोबायोलॉजी के प्रोफेसर सेबला कुटलुए कहते हैं, ''वायरस में यह म्यूटेशन उस स्थान पर हु्आ है जो इंसानों में प्रसार के दौरान बहुत अधिक बदलते हैं। इस म्यूटेशन के साथ वायरस ने प्रवेश के नए मार्ग को ढूंढ लिया है।'' इस अध्ययन को जर्नल सेल रिपोर्टस में प्रकाशित किया गया है।
