Maharashtra imposes Level 3 curbs amid concerns over Delta Plus variant
  • 3 years ago
The Maharashtra government tightened the Covid-19 unlocking process on Friday, as the state reported the highest number of cases of the Delta-plus variant and the first death in the Ratnagiri district.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government also announced a "state-level trigger" for imposing restrictions in administrative units, regardless of weekly positivity rate or percentage of oxygen bed occupancy.
As a precaution, the state government announced that it will not relax Covid-19 restrictions beyond 'Level3' for the time being. In addition, the government has issued new directives to combat the spread of viral infection.
