The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a central government agency, has rubbished claims that the Delta Plus variant would be responsible for the third wave of the pandemic in the country. ICMR's Dr. Sumit Agarwal said on Thursday, 'It is too early to say that the third wave of the epidemic will come from the Delta Plus variant in the country. There can be other reasons for this as well. He further explained that, each virus has a general tendency to mutate. We cannot control it. “So far we have identified three traits of the Delta Plus variant. First- it spreads very fast. Second- It damages the lungs very fast.
