The havoc of Coronavirus is not taking its name to stop. A new variant has also been revealed in the US. Researchers there have said that a mutant in the gamma variant (P1) of the corona disease is associated with increased mortality. This is what Harvard T.H. Researchers from the Chan School of Public Health and MIT (US researchers) have said. A detailed study in the Journal of Genetic Epidemiology showed that the mutants also have greater transmission efficiency, higher infection rates and increased pathogenicity.

कोरोनावायरस का कहर थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। अमेरिका में भी नए वैरिएंट के बारे में पता चला है। वहां के शोधकर्ताओं ने कहा है कि कोरोना रोग के गामा वैरिएंट (पी 1) में एक म्यूटेंट मृत्यु दर में वृद्धि से जुड़ा हुआ है। यह बात हार्वर्ड टी.एच. चैन स्कूल ऑफ पब्लिक हेल्थ और एमआईटी के शोधकतार्ओं (US researchers) ने कही है। जेनेटिक एपिडेमियोलॉजी जर्नल में विस्तृत अध्ययन से पता चला है कि म्यूटेंट (mutations) में अधिक संचरण क्षमता, उच्च संक्रमण दर और बढ़ी हुई रोगजनकता भी होती है।
