57 years ago at approximately 8:12 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, February 9, 1964, The Ed Sullivan Show returned from a commercial for Anacin pain reliever and there was Ed Sullivan before a restless crowd.
Nearly 73 million people were watching.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, fresh from Liverpool, kicked off the first of what was to be three Sunday appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.
It was the moment The Beatles took over music forever.
