COVID has potentially been moving through the Sydney community since last Friday, with the possibility of it being the highly infectious ‘alpha’ strain. Professor Mary-Louise McLaws, an epidemiologist with the University of New South Wales, says the alpha strain took four months to take over in the United Kingdom.
