‘Sports Illustrated’ Teams Up With Venmo for New Ticketing Platform.
The new way to buy tickets to live concerts, theater and sporting events, SI TIX, was announced on June 16.
David Lane, CEO of SI TIX, says many of the new platform's policies were adopted because of issues surrounding live events that arose amid the pandemic.
For example, if an event is canceled,
customers will receive a refund 100%
of the time, no matter the reason.
The fan is the most important person to us in this ecosystem. , David Lane, CEO of SI TIX, via statement.
When a problem occurs, they need to be able to rely on the company that got them those tickets. You’re going to get your money back, you’re not going to have to chase it, David Lane, CEO of SI TIX, via statement.
Instead of a percentage-based fee structure
implemented by other ticketing platforms,
SI TIX will charge a $10 flat transaction fee.
According to Lane, 'Sports Illustrated' partnered with Venmo for specific reasons.
Live events are social. We go with friends; we want to be with others. That’s what Venmo is. Venmo is a social payment platform, David Lane, CEO of SI TIX, via statement.
If customers prefer to use credit cards or PayPal, a 15% transaction fee will be applied
