Lockdown restrictions will be further eased in Delhi from June 14 as fresh Covid-19 cases continue to decline, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on June 13. Kejriwal reiterated that it was imperative to revive the economy as many people are struggling to make ends meet. This has to be done while keeping the possibility of a third wave in mind and beefing up medical infrastructure, he said. Delhi entered a stringent lockdown on the late evening of April 19. So far, shops in markets and malls had to follow the odd-even formula. This essentially meant that only half the shops in a market or mall could open on a given day. That restriction has been removed under the latest rules. Dine-in services at restaurants have been allowed with 50% capacity. Cinemas & multiplexes will remain closed. Parks and gardens will remain shut. Swimming pools, sports complexes have also not been allowed to reopen as yet. Meanwhile, The Haryana government on June 13 extended the statewide Covid-19 induced lockdown by a week, till June 21, allowing a few relaxations amid a dip in the daily cases.
