Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 13 accepted that the current fuel prices are problematic but central and state govts are spending over Rs 35,000 crores on vaccines in a year. “We're saving money to spend on welfare schemes”, said Pradhan. He also slammed Rahul Gandhi over high fuel prices in Congress ruling states and said “Rahul Gandhi must have the answer why fuel prices are high in Congress-ruled states like Punjab, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. If he is so concerned about the poor, he should instruct Maharashtra CM to reduce taxes as prices are very high in Mumbai”.
