This Date in History: Steve Kerr's jumper clinches Bulls' title

On June 13th 1997, the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz prepared for Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The game remained close, but in the fourth quarter, with 28 seconds remaining, the score was tied at 86. The Bulls called a timeout and the plan was to get the ball to Michael Jordan, but Jordan turned to his teammate Steve Kerr and told him to be ready. The ball was inbounded and got to Jordan. He pump-faked, stepped through a double team, and found Steve Kerr. Kerr shot the 17-foot jumper and made it to give the Bulls the lead. The Bulls won the game and became the NBA 1997 Champions.
