Gov. Greg Abbott Announces , Texas Will Build Its Own Border Wall
and Arrest Migrants.
Republican Governor Greg Abbott announced that
construction for the border wall will begin next week.
It is one of several new initiatives the state
will implement to address what Abbott
refers to as a "crisis" at the Texas/Mexico border.
Change is needed to
fix the border crisis, Gov. Greg Abbott, (TX-R), via CNN.
Abbott also announced that migrants who cross the
border and trespass on private property will be arrested.
When asked if children would be arrested,
Abbott specified that the measure
would only apply to adults.
The TX Governor issued a disaster declaration
last week, which mandates the enforcement
of federal and state criminal laws... .
and ends state licensure of shelters or child care
facilities that offer care to "unlawful immigrants."
