Former Revenue Inspector Under Vigilance Scanner For Amassing Disproportionate Assets In Odisha

Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on the houses and offices of Former Revenue Inspector (RI) Basant Mohanty on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
Several teams of vigilance officials carried out searches at six places. Mohanty’s two houses at Friends Club in Puri, his residence at Penthakata and his relative’s house at Balighat were raided by the anti-corruption sleuths.
Similar raids were also conducted at Mohanty’s two government offices and his paternal house in Kendrapara district.
Sources said that Mohanty, who was the Revenue Inspector of of Balukhanda RI circle in Puri, was engaged in the measurement and demarcation of the heritage corridor that is being developed on 75-metre area from the boundary wall of Puri Srimandir.
Earlier, several allegations of corruption in selling and purchase of land, mutation of land and changing the land holding pattern were also leveled against him.
