Two Persons Robbed Through Cyber Fraud In Odisha | OTV News

Another day another cyber fraud! Two people from Laxmipur block of Koraput district have fallen prey to cyber criminals.
The victims have been identified as Sachin Huika from Lakshmipur Block and Sukh Sarka from Khalkana village in the district.
As per the complaint, the victims had first paid Rs 3,000 online for a motorcycle of KTM brand through some scheme on Facebook. The miscreants had informed them that the amount paid would be used for registration and the bike would be delivered to their homes.
The miscreants then asked the duo to pay Rs 22,000 on January 21st. On January 22nd, the miscreants asked for Rs 18,400 more, citing that Rs 18,000 would be refunded. After sending the amount, the victims were informed that their vehicle had reached Raigada for insurance paper-work and would soon reach Laxmipur Block for delivery.
In this manner, the duo collectively deposited Rs 73,200 only to realize later that they have been duped. Following this, the victims filed a complaint at the Laxmipur Police Station.
