Rescued Baby Elephant ‘Padma’ Gets a New Home! | OTV News

The female elephant calf named Padma, rescued from Chikiti in Ganjam district got a new home and family. Padma has been shifted to the Kapilash Elephant Rescue Centre at Dhenkanal after it was rescued following its separation from its herd.
As per the Forest Department, the elephant calf is doing well and will be allowed to live with the other rescued elephants at the centre.
The rescued calf’s blood sample was earlier sent to Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) for tests and as per the results, Padma is in healthy condition.
