Former Indian cricketer from Odisha, Debashish Mohanty has been appointed as one of the national selectors for the Indian Cricket team. Mohanty, who has also headed the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Selection Committee, was appointed as the national selector for Indian Cricket Team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Two other former India pacers, Chetan Sharma and Abey Kuruvilla along with Mohanty will now serve as members of the all-India Senior Selection Committee Panel.

Chetan Sharma will replace Sunil Joshi as the chairman of the senior national selection committee. Joshi and Harvinder Singh, who were appointed as selectors in February this year, will continue in their roles.
