‘My son is innocent’. This is what Sailabala Sethi, the mother of the prime accused Saroj Sethi had to say when the SIT took accused Saroj to Jadupur village in Nayagarh district for reconstruction of the crime scene today.
Speaking to the media, Saroj’s mother accused the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of forcefully taking towels and jute bags from their home as pieces of evidence. She also claimed that Saroj used to watch ‘bhajan’ on his sister’s phone and not anything suspicious. She said that as her son is in police custody, she is fearful of filling any complaint against the Special Investigation Team.
The Special Investigation Team has arrested Saroj Sethi in connection with the murder case. Sharing the findings of the investigation, Special Investigation Team chief, Arun Bothra had said that Saroj murdered the girl first then attempted to have sex with her dead body. Bothra also said that Saroj used to watch pornographic content on his sister’s mobile and even watched pornographic content all through the previous night of the crime.
