A speedy college student serving as a cameraman during a university sprint race has gone viral for outrunning all of the competitors during the 100-meter dash, leaving the real runners trailing in his wake.

Hao Xiaoyang, a senior student at Datong University in north China's Shanxi Province, sought to capture dynamic footage of the action but instead inadvertently ended up stealing the show.

Taking his place in the outside lane just a few meters ahead of the athletes, Hao waited for the starting gun to sound before launching into his own explosive stride, with his camera pointed back at the runners.
