In an interview to Karan Thapar for The Wire Harsh Mander also spoke about his personal experience at India’s premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences. In October, when he got Covid, he got himself admitted into a general ward of this hospital and described the experience “as close to hell as I can imagine”. He called it “an unending nightmare”. He said AIIMS was guilty of “at least gross negligence, which could have led to my death”. The second half of this precis of the interview will have details of how Harsh Mander was treated at AIIMS and how he nearly died.
