MEDIA MIRAGE I What the Coverage of the Farmers' Movement Tells Us About the Big Indian Media
  • 3 years ago
Media is considered to be the fourth pillar of democracy in our country. However, since the onset of this decade, it has forgotten its job of reporting news in an unbiased manner and has become nothing more than a commercial business industry being run by corporates. In this documentary, we prove the above statement by highlighting the agricultural crisis happening across India. The latest data, released by the government, suggests that an average of 10 farmers commit suicide every day. We don’t suppose that any of you would know about this because well, you haven’t been told by the media. After endless interviews with government officials, renowned journalists, politicians, lawyers, and of course, farmers, we present to you, ‘Media Mirage’, which exposes the flipside of Journalism in the world’s biggest democracy, India.
