Rashid Khan has declined to captain the Afghanistan T20 side fearing it might affect his performance as a player which he feels is more crucial to the team. Afghanistan has been changing captains frequently and earlier this week named Hashmatullah Shahidi as their Test and ODI skipper. Hashmatullah Shahidi is set to lead the team in ODI and Test cricket, with Rahmat Shah as his deputy in both formats.

Rashid Khan ने कहा है कि कप्तानी मिलने के बाद उनका व्यक्तिगत प्रदर्शन खराब हो सकता है. इसी वजह से वो इस दबाव में नहीं खेलना चाहते हैं. Rashid Khan को लगता है कि वो कप्तान नहीं. बल्कि खिलाड़ी के तौर पर बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन कर सकते हैं. टीम की जीत में बड़ी भूमिका निभा सकते हैं.
