The International Court of Justice has ruled that Pakistan must now grant India consular access to the former Indian naval officer accused of espionage and terrorism, and review the conviction and sentence already handed down on him. But it has also allowed Pakistan the freedom to decide how this review will be convicted, thus putting a big question mark on the eventual outcome. Siddharth Varadarajan explains.
