In Yogi’s UP, School Teachers Paid as Little as Rs 3500 for Full-Time Work

The Wire's Arfa Khanum Sherwani reports from a government school in Bahraich for Lok Sabha elections 2019. Here, she discovers that additional teachers in the school are paid as little as Rs 3500 for full-time work and students of class 4 are still studying from the books of the previous academic year because new books have not arrived yet. She also speaks to the mid-day meal cooks who are paid only Rs 1000 for 6-day work.
