As 'Sadak se Sansad' enters the Jalore Lok Sabha Constituency through Barmer, we bring you a special story from the Meena Chhapar village of this constituency. While Digital India is touted as the solution to all issues people in remote villages face, here's a village where people have to travel 4-5 kilometres and even climb mountains just to make a phone call. Even the E-Mitra plus automated delivery kiosks set up by the state government for digitisation at the gram panchayat level are gathering dust because there's no network connectivity. As the central government pushes forward it's agenda of digitisation and the JAM (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) trinity, residents of Meena Chhapar can't even make phone calls, let alone mobile banking and e-governance.
