The Government Is Considering Reviving The Library System In Schools In Order To Sharpen Student Reading Competencies As Required In The New Curriculum. Principal Secretary, State Department Of Implementation Of Curriculum Reforms, Prof. Fatuma Chege However Says The Focus Will Not Be A Physical Library But Rather Ensuring That Schools Have Good Internet Connectivity Where Students Can Access Relevant Reading Materials Within Their Age And Learning Level. She Said Reading, As A Major Competency In The New Curriculum, Has To Be Cultivated By Giving Learners Their Time To Learn By Themselves But Not Loading Them With Teaching Time.
