Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh: PM Modi’s constituency is famous for its silk sarees, but the city’s weavers, whose labour goes into making these sarees, haven’t really benefited from the fame. Over 50 weavers have committed suicide in the last three years due to indebtedness. What could have pushed them into such desperation and hopelessness?
