Mehul Choksi has no legal rights in Dominica, can be deported to India: Ex-CBI Director

Former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director AP Singh on June 2 said as per Interpol Red Corner Notice, Dominica can deport fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi at any time to India. “As per Interpol Red Corner Notice, Dominica can deport Mehul Choksi at any time as he has no legal rights there. But, If Dominican court found that Choksi was kidnapped and forcibly taken to Dominica, he'd be deported to Antigua as his country of origin,” Singh told ANI.

Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are wanted in India for allegedly siphoning off Rs 13,500 crore of public money from the state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) using letters of undertaking.
