Pulwama martyr Major Dhoundiyal's wife Nikita Kaul joins Indian Army in befitting tribute to husband

On the first death anniversary of her husband martyred Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, 28-year-old Nikita Kaul Dhoundiyal joined the Indian Army on Saturday as a Lieutenant. The widow of the Indian Army officer passed out from the Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai. A year ago, 35-year-old Major Vibhuti Dhoundiyal laid down his life after an intense gun battle with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. Soon after her husband’s death, Nitika Kaul cleared the Short Service Commission Examination and started her training. The couple had got married in 2018 and within a year, Nitika lost her husband. Nitika left her corporate job and joined the army as a tribute to her late husband.
