Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, an IPS officer & the chief of Central Industrial Security Forces, has been appointed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation for a two-year period. The government notification came on May 25 evening after a series of meetings between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Justice of India & opposition leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. On January 8 this year, when he took charge of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Subodh Kumar Jaiswal planned to expand the paramilitary force's areas of expertise and competencies. He also looked forward to rev-up its morale battered by the losses faced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Jaiswal, however, didn't get enough time to get all that done. The CISF Director General was on May 25 chosen to head India's premier crime probe agency, the Central Bureau of Investigative (CBI). Watch the video to know more.
