Sweeping changes to be made to sexual assault laws in NSW

The changes to NSW sexual assault laws include an affirmative consent model, and would mean defendants in sexual assault matters could be convicted unless they have taken active steps to obtain consent for sex. It comes in response to the NSW Law Reform Commission's review of consent in relation to sexual offences, tabled in parliament in November last year.
