COVID-19 : कोरोना महामारी से निपटने का अब तक का एकमात्र उपाय वैक्सीन है. देश में वैक्सीनेशन अभियान चल रहा है लेकिन इसकी कमी की वजह से इसकी रफ्तार भी धीमी है. पहले जहां 6 से 8 सप्ताह के अंतराल के बाद कोवीशील्ड वैक्सीन की दूसरी डोज दे दी जाती थी वहीं इसे बढ़ाकर अब 12 से 16 सप्ताह कर दिया गया है. सरकार के इस कदम का बचाव करते हुए भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (ICMR) के महानिदेशक बलराम भार्गव (Balram Bhargava) ने कहा है कि कोवीशील्ड (Covishield) की दो डोज के बीच इसलिए समय बढ़ाई गई क्योंकि इसकी पहली खुराक से ही मजबूत इम्यूनिटी बन रही है.
