India’s step to extend gap between 1st, 2nd vaccine dose reasonable: Anthony Fauci

White House Chief Medical Adviser, Dr Anthony Fauci called India’s step to extend the time interval between the first and second dose of the Covid vaccine “a reasonable approach” amid the shortage during an exclusive interview with ANI.

“When there's vaccine shortage, extending duration between 1st and 2nd dose to get more people to get 1st dose is a reasonable approach. Unlikely that long delay would have a negative effect on vaccine efficacy. I wouldn't refer it as a cover-up,” said Dr Fauci.
