Evening grosbeaks are yellow birds with "grossly" over-sized beaks. These birds are found in North America and have spend the last 70 decades moving to the East coast. Originally these birds were only found on the Pacific coast, but introductions of bird feeders and planting of box elders has allowed these birds to spread from their native range. Their eastern numbers, however, are on the decline. Male evening grosbeaks have angry little eyebrows. These birds will eat you out of house and home if your home happens to be constructed out of sunflower seeds!
