A while ago this song was suggested to me by the mysterious but surprisingly accurate YouTube algorithm.

I was immediately touched by its nostalgic feeling. It had a very peculiar mix between Japanese pop and the American disco music from the 80’s. The result is a sweet and danceable music that they call “city pop”

After some research online I found out that despite of being being a well-known artist in Japan Mariya Takeuchi only became worldwide popular a couple of years ago, after her song was uploaded to YouTube. It spread quickly receiving as many as 22 million views, bringing this song back to life more than 30 years after its release!.
