Ajit Singh, Former Union Minister & RLD Chief, Dies Due To COVID-19 Related Complications, PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi Condole His Death

Ajit Singh, union minister in several governments & one of India's senior most politicians, died on May 6 at 82. The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief had been battling Covid-19, his son Jayant Chaudhary tweeted. Ajit Singh was diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 20, his son said in tweets. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among those who paid tribute to the politician, known to be a prominent voice of farmers. Congress' Rahul Gandhi also condoled the death of the leader. Ajit Singh, an alum of IIT Kharagpur & the Illinois Institute of Technology, was a seven-time MP a& union minister in the governments of VP Singh, PV Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee & Manmohan Singh.
