ANC's KZN Deputy chair first to sep-aside
  • 3 years ago
The ANC's Deputy Chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Mike Mabuyakhulu, is the first to fall on his sword, in terms of the step-aside rule. Mabuyakhulu is one of 16 people charged with corruption relating to the 28-million rand North Sea Jazz Festival in 2012, which never happened. Mabuyakhulu goes on trial in September. The latest developments follow the decision by the ANC's National Working Committee to suspend members who refuse to step aside voluntarily. eNCA's Power to Truth anchor, JJ Tabane, says the move will remind leaders of their service to the people.
