Evan Fournier Still Battling COVID Symptoms
  • 3 years ago
During the NBA Trade Deadline, the Celtics traded Guard Jeff Teague, two second-round draft picks, and used 17 million of their 28.5 million TPE to bring in what they hope to be a consistent bench scoring option in Guard, Evan Fournier. So far in his 9 games played with the Celtics, Fournier has been everything but, averaging around 7 PTS on 32FG%, 34 3FG%, and over 1 AST and STL per game.

During Celtics 129-119 loss to the Blazers, Fournier caught fire and finished the night with 21 PTS on 80 FG%, 71 3FG%, 5 REBS, and 3 ASTS. The Garden Report discusses why Fournier has been inconsistent, and if he is capable of putting being the reliable scoring-option he was with the Magic?

Next to the Celtics postgame, Fournier said he's been feeling "really weird" since returning from COVID-19, like he has a concussion. The bright lights were bothering his eyes, and his vision was blurry. Also, everything is going too fast for him. It's a bit better now, but in some ways, "it's still the case." Evan Fournier said it's "heartbreaking" to feel like this after receiving a "golden opportunity" to join the Celtics and have a realistic chance in the playoffs for the first time in his career.
