Israel mourns victims of stampede on Mt. Meron
Israel is holding a day of national mourning for the victims of a stampede at a Jewish pilgrimage site. Vigils and funerals are also being held this weekend for the 45 people killed during the Lag BaOmer festival at Mount Meron. At least 10 children and teenagers are among the dead.
Flags are lowered at half-mast in Jerusalem. A tribute to those who died in one of Israel's worst peacetime disasters.

Funerals resumed Saturday after the end of Sabbath, the Jewish day of rest. Late night burials were held for a 12-year-old boy and 18-year-old man.

In Tel Aviv, a memorial for the dead. Many people knew the victims.
The event was authorized for 10,000 people but Israeli media estimate around 100,000 were in attendance.
A police investigation has already shown multiple failings by event organizers. Now calls for a full state commission of inquiry are growing.
