Tamil Nadu on Sunday recorded the highest single-day spike in cases with 15,659 new Covid-19 cases. The total case tally in the state climbed to 10,81,988. Tamil Nadu registered 82 fatalities, and with this the death toll mounted to 13,557.

Amid rising coronavirus cases in the state, the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday had announced shutting down of cinemas, places of worship, malls, bars and salons from April 26. Groceries and all other kinds of retail outlets may continue to operate as usual with '50 per cent' customer capacity norm.
