How BLACKPINK's Band Members Were Discovered
  • 3 years ago
Learn how BLACKPINK, one of South Korean’s most popular girl groups got their start. BLACKPINK, formed by YG Entertainment in 2016, is made up of 4 members: Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé, and each one was brought to the agency in very different ways.

Jennie, the first member of the group, auditioned first as a singer but was later convinced to train as a rapper seeing as she was one of the few to speak English. Lisa auditioned for the group in Thailand and is the only member not from South Korea. Rosé's dad signed her up for the audition and Jisoo turned down an offer from SM Entertainment.
