Shukla Paksha Navami of Chaitra month is celebrated as Rama Navami, the birthday of Lord Rama. On this date, Maryada Purushottam Lord Rama was born in the sun dynasty in Punavasu Nakshatra and Cancer Lagna. This festival occurs only after getting the Punavasu nakshatra on the Navami date. If the Navami is found in the afternoon, if the Punavasu constellation is not found, then this festival is celebrated. This time, on 21 April Wednesday, the midday trade date is Ram Navami. On this day, Navami Tithi will remain overnight throughout the day. According to Rajiv Sharma of Balaji Astrology Research Institute, Pushya Nakshatra will remain from sunrise to 7:58 am on this day. After this Ashlesha Nakshatra will begin. Cancer ascendant will be from 8.47 am to 11.01 am.

चैत्र माह की शुक्लपक्ष की नवमी को भगवान राम के जन्मदिन को राम नवमी के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस तिथि को पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र तथा कर्क लग्न में सूर्यवंश में मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान राम का जन्म हुआ था। नवमी तिथि को पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र मिलने पर ही यह पर्व होता है। पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र के न मिलने पर यदि दोपहर में नवमीं मिले तो यह पर्व मनाया जाता है। इस बार 21 अप्रैल बुधवार को मध्याह्न व्यापिनी तिथि राम नवमी है। इस दिन नवमी तिथि पूरे दिन रात रहेगी। बालाजी ज्योतिष अनुसंधान संस्थान के राजीव शर्मा के मुताबिक इस दिन पुष्य नक्षत्र सूर्योदय से प्रातःकाल 7:58 बजे तक रहेगा। इसके बाद अश्लेशा नक्षत्र आरंभ होगा। कर्क लग्न सुबह 8.47 बजे से 11.01 बजे तक रहेगा।
