Tottenham players leave training ground after saying final farewell to Mourinho

Tottenham players left their training centre north of London on Monday after saying their final farewell to Jose Mourinho, who was sacked as coach after just 12 months in charge.

He began his tenure at White Hart Lane in November 2019 as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, who himself was sacked after guiding Tottenham to one of their most successful seasons.

Spurs are currently seventh in the Premier League table, were knocked out of the Europa League in March and have collected only two points from their past three league games.

They do however face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on April 25th.

Mourinho's sacking comes a day after it was announced Tottenham are one of the 12 clubs that will join the new European Super League.

The competition is unsanctioned by UEFA and FIFA, with both bodies threatening any players who participate, will not be able to play in their competitions, including the World Cup.
