Former Bull and Chicago native Jabari Parker spoke in a shootaround interview with media and answered questions on being signed by the Boston Celtics. Boston announced his signing on Friday and he immediately suited up for the team on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors, notching 11 PTS on 5/6 shooting and 4 REB. Parker most recently played in the NBA with Sacramento earlier in the season before getting waived. On how quickly a deal came together between him and Boston, Parker said "After I got waived by Sacramento, I've just been working out and I was in Chicago during that down time and Dr. Tucker (my agent) was talking to Danny within the week and then was trying to get it together so pretty much had to get here as soon as possible." Parker said he liked the teamwork and preparation of the Celtics, and hopes that he can get integrated and let his work ethic rub off on guys. On his performance against the Warriors, Parker said "It's always good to be out on the court and most importantly just blessed to have good health. So hopefully I can use this as a good learning experience and just to keep on the good habits that I look forward to keeping." Parker said that his faith was a big part of what kept him going and lessons learned from his dad as a child. Parker also talked about the relationships he developed between Jayson Tatum through their Duke ties as well as Danny Ainge through the NBA Draft process.
