Tesla Hits Solar Roof Customers
With Massive Price Hikes.
Tesla is reportedly raising the prices of its
solar panel installation program.
The Verge reported on April 14 that they
had spoken to one customer that recently
received a 69 percent increase in price. .
The anonymous customer’s original contract
for Tesla’s solar roof panels was $35,000,
with an additional $30,000 for the battery. .
Now, the customer's new contract puts
the price of Tesla’s service at $75,000, with
an additional $35,000 for the battery. .
In an email to the customer, Tesla reportedly said
he could “cancel his order” and receive a refund. .
Tesla also added that customers would
be prioritized based on the “order in which
they accept their updated agreements.”.
The Verge’s findings match another report
from Electrek that alleged Tesla had drastically
increased its Solar Roof prices. .
One anonymous customer revealed to Electrek
that their $77,000 contract from nine months ago
was now priced at $118,870
