The last of nine endangered Rothschild's giraffes has been rescued from Longicharo Island on Kenya's Lake Baringo. The land continues to sink as water levels rise around the lake, threatening the survival of trapped animals. The step marks the successful conclusion of an ambitious rescue effort which started in December last year.
